HTC (Speech 101): Assignment for 8.VI.2006

Gentlemen,

Your assignment for the antepenultimate class meeting is another parody. This time you will need to parody Lincoln's Second Inaugural, imitating the rhythms, devices, and even sentence constructions (not the words themselves, but the way he puts them together). You will also have a task to fulfill: give your speech while not using any form of the verb "to be". Do not use the following words "am," "is," "are," "was," "were," or "been." The task will be a little difficult, but it will teach you something about word choice. Time requirement: 3 - 5 minutes.

My email address can be found in one of the posts below, or on your syllabus.
